This one wasn't too hard to swing -- St. Vincent at the Orpheum Theatre in Vancouver (steps outside my place), touring her new album All Born Screaming. Nice to get a chance to see another stalwart in the indie scene, after my last show seeing Vampire Weekend back in June, especially after a quiet July in terms of concerts.
Eartheater opened with a lowkey, no frills set. And St. Vincent shredded through a bunch of cuts from All Born Screaming, along with some of her other staples. "New York" was the highlight for me; she chatted to the crowd about her admiration for Vancouver prior to the track, and went into the crowd while performing the track.
The Orpheum is a bit of an odd venue for a show like this, since it's entirely seated -- here, everyone just stood up once St. Vincent took the stage. I guess Vancouver doesn't really have any other similarly sized venues, so we have to make do with this!
