2025 has been Dijon's year. His new record Baby being the focal point, but this is a man that also worked extensively with Justin Bieber on his latest album, and also appeared in a small role on Paul Thomas-Anderson's latest film, One Battle After Another. My favourite movie of the year so far, I might add. And now he's touring! No idea how he made time for all that.
He played two nights here in Toronto, and I went to the first night. Both shows were at History. And if you know History, you'll know it can take forever to get through security. So even though there was no opener, Dijon had to start a little later than planned. No biggie though, he had lots of time to spare before curfew.
His setup was pretty minimalist. He had a band in tow, but there wasn't much going on stage-wise. That kinda fits his sound though, a very DIY bedroom pop vibe. Highlight for me was "Talk Down".
