This makes it three shows in a row for me with classic alternative bands, following Ride and The Chameleons, this time with Echo & the Bunnymen. No album to go with this tour. Pretty much just seeing it as a chance to see them live before they tap out.
Like Ride, this one was at the Commodore Ballroom, legendary venue here in Vancouver.
I hadn't heard great things about their live shows prior... so it doesn't surprise me to confirm that this one was a stinker. Ian McCulloch, most definitely on the bottle, slurred his way through the set. He and the whole band were kinda just toiling about in the shadows the whole time. And wildly enough, there was an intermission! That's a new one for me, even with some of the other aging bands I've seen.
