This had to have been one of the most impressive displays of lighting I've seen at a show in a while. Lasers generally come to mind first as far as lighting goes, but DARKSIDE went above and beyond just lasers here. Their psychedelic electronic sound was aptly set to a wide array of prismatic lights, LED walls, and strobe lights spanning all over the rainbow. Very much a show where you could just stand back and soak it all in.
I was hoping to hear a bit more from their latest record, Nothing, as the set was pretty heavy on Spiral. Though maybe that's making up for Spiral having been released during the pandemic, never having had a chance to tour with it.
Great turnout on a rainy Saturday night at the Vogue here in downtown Vancouver!
