I think I should make this a yearly tradition; attending at least one Raptors game a season! Harder given that I live in Vancouver right now, but since I've been back in Ottawa for the holidays, it wasn't too much trouble to head over to Toronto for a few days.
Of course, it's a year of growing pains for the Raps, so I didn't have high expectations for the result of this game against the Brooklyn Nets on New Year's Day. Especially considering they entered this game as losers of their last eleven (!) games, with the latest being a franchise record 54 point loss to the Boston Celtics. But with point guard Immanuel Quickley back at the healm for just his fourth game of the season, the Raps managed to come away with a decisive 130-113 victory in this one! Scottie Barnes also put up solid numbers, as the Raps really were in control the whole way. I don't expect this to start a huge turnaround or anything, but it definitely made for an enjoyable game-day experience at Scotiabank Arena in downtown Toronto.
