Senators vs Kings
10.14.24
Ottawa, ONContinuing the theme of Canadian Thanksgiving -- this one was supposed to be gravy boat night at the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa with the Sens taking on the LA Kings. However, the shipment of 10,000 gravy boats are stuck at a shipping port in Halifax due to a labour disruption. Drat! The gravy will have to flow at a later date.
So our consolation prize was a voucher for a free small popcorn. Better than nothing, but it was what took place on the ice that made up for the gravy boats. This was a back and forth affair, with the Sens dominating play for the most part, but two absolute stinker performances in net from Anton Forsberg and Mads Søgaard (.667 and .765 save percentages from them, respectively) kept the Kings in it, all the way to an 8-7 final score in overtime. Josh Norris came through with the winner in overtime, his second goal of the game, while the Sens also got a surprise two goal performance from none other than Zack MacEwen (he took a bad penalty in the first, but those two goals more than made up for it). My heart was racing the whole game, but it certainly made for a memorable afternoon!
That's it for my Ottawa/Montreal shenanigans; back to the West Coast shortly.
