Wuthering Heights

Toronto, ONPretty weird place for me to start with everything Wuthering Heights related, but nothing about this grabbed me. All I could think of was my GOAT Alejandro Kirk when this Alejandro appeared onscreen and how the score sounded so much like Vertigo. I'm going to file this as the exact kind of film Hayley Williams was thinking of when she penned "All I Wanted"... "fall asleep on the couch... and wake up early to black-and-white reruns".
Watched on 35mm at the TIFF Lightbox. Part of their Luis Buñuel retrospective. It's not available to stream anywhere here in Canada, and this is a rare print. So if anything, this was a unique experience! But this film is so obscure, it's probably not going to carry much weight at all for me personally once the retro is over. And it also works as pregame for the new Wuthering Heights film adaptation. Looking forward to that despite all the controversy surrounding it.
