Don't have a lot more to say on this one that I haven't already said with the other Naruse films I've seen during this retrospective. It's all starting to blend together. Perhaps you can see it as a precursor to When a Woman Ascends the Stairs, as a perspective on what it feels like to not have given up even when it's clear that the world is full of flakes.

Watched on 35mm at the TIFF Lightbox. Final film of the retrospective. Pretty impressive what TIFF was able to put together here.
