A sight to behold on the big screen. Similar to Arrival in that it brings a fresh perspective to what can be considered extraterrestrial. It's got a tangible look and feel that elevates the immersion. But the overarching sentimentality was a bit much. Space is at its best when it's scary, pushing the limits of science, but a lot of that was skimmed here in favour of the Grace and Rocky bromance. Just a choice I guess to focus on the human aspect of an alien encounter.

Watched in dual laser IMAX at Scotiabank Theatre Toronto.
