There's so much here that's just infinitely pure. A world I'd loved to be dropped in and hang around for a bit. But the letter home during the end credits is what really got me — it perfectly captures what it means to leave home in just a handful of words. To feel confident finding your footing in a new place, but sometimes feeling a little sad along the way. It's good to remind yourself it's okay to feel that way. Both feelings can exist at the same time. And those days when you feel like you're losing that spark, inevitably it will come back.
Watched in IMAX at the Yonge-Dundas Cineplex. After Princess Mononoke last year, I'd love to see these IMAX releases become an annual thing with Studio Ghibli. These films truly are gorgeous.
