Another great take on the coming of age of America, à la The Searchers and Red River. Love what it says about parenting, how parents can learn just as much from their children as the children do from them. And what a trio of leads. Seeing that final shot of James Dean, knowing it would end up being his final role in film... truly heartbreaking.
Watched on 35mm at the TIFF Lightbox. 70th anniversary screening. Loved the early 11:15am start time. Quite the charming, well-loved print.
