I dug this more than I expected! Feels like a prototype for what the show Atlanta became (relevant). Saying that mostly for how ahead of its time it is in creating comedy out of the exact kind of social discomfort that Atlanta tackles, satirizing these white "safe spaces" that get exposed as soon as a Black man tries to enter. Yaphet Kotto was incredible here. That kind of deadpan delivery is a sight to behold. I really ought to watch more of his stuff.

Watched on 35mm at the TIFF Lightbox. Midnight Madness Presents monthly programming. Definitely a well-loved print. Colour shifted for sure. The speaker introducing the movie explained he had trouble sourcing a print that actually opened with the title Bone, eventually getting this print from the University of North Carolina that opened it as Housewife. And that in the UK it was marketed as Dial Rat for Terror. Wild stuff.
