Magical adaptation of the classic fairy tale, bringing a heightened sense of surrealism to the table. The wholly tactile approach with the set and costume design makes everything feel that much more otherworldly. The ending took me out of it a bit, but the immersion was real most of the way.
Watched at the TIFF Lightbox. 80th anniversary screening, part of the Family Films series. Saw Charli xcx mention it recently. Good timing with TIFF playing it.
